Luz María Tobar, one of our students from the 2013-2015 edition, describes what the EU4M master's experience was like for her. It was a challenge to leave her homeland but that sacrifice was rewarded:
"My stay at EU4M was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. It is a great opportunity to fully grow as a person and develop professionally.
One of the reasons that made me choose EU4M was the opportunity to study in two internationally recognized institutions. Also, the challenge of studying in a language different from my mother tongue. Of course it was hard, there is no denying it; but the important thing is that, yes, you can do it!
Another advantage is the possibility of doing your Master's thesis in research centers in Europe. Having the opportunity to be in contact with the latest technological advances makes you feel like a kid in a toy store :-) Also, it is important to highlight that it allowed me to know the close relationship between industry and academia.
Moving to another country makes you leave your friends behind, and that is something I definitely didn't like. However, it gives you the opportunity to share and learn from different cultures.
Not to make you tired, studying at EU4M helped me visualize and decide what I really wanted to do after graduating. Currently, I live in the middle of the world, Ecuador, and I work at the university where I am dedicated to teaching and research related to biomechatronics."
